Deluxe Seat

When I got the bike it had a white buddy seat which I replaced with a genuine HD deluxe solo saddle.
OEM Part # 52006-47A is listed as fitting '41 on. My seat was brought in by local Harley dealer, Road & Sport from Melbourne Australia.
It fits the standard Harley tee. It uses a quick release clip on the clevis pin.

It's mounted on the rearmost holes.

It mounts to a "pogo stick" which I bottom out quite frequently.

18Dec2020 I fitted a spring over the upper part of the pogo. It has the perfect amount of firmness now.

Sometimes called a Police seat, the ride feels very old school. I like it.

27Mar2016 I repaired one of the spears that decorates the seat skirting. Two tags had broken off. I used "2-pot plastic steel" to bond new stainless tie wire.

Personalized Plate

The Pan has a personalized number plate which was cracked so I had it remade. Because the plates are made of thin aluminum, I decided to fit a backing from 3mm aluminum sheet. This will strengthen the flimsy number plate preventing it from cracking.  I'm lowering the mounting height because rider often bends it while swinging a leg over.

Sidestand stop

18Dec2020 Here's a simple thing to help stop sidestand from banging into footboard mount. I slid a short piece of rubber hose over as pictured.

  1. I’ve reached out to Harley but everyone is working from home because of Covid so no luck yet but having that part number will help.
I’m looking for the other model, not the police.
    I have a 1950.
